Membership Agreement
When you join our CSA, you’re agreeing to these terms:
- The full season is 20 weeks of naturally grown produce, starting in May and ending in October. The bi-weekly share is 10 weeks.
- We are fully committed to growing and delivering an abundance of produce each week. That being said, some things are out of our control (extreme weather, insects, etc…). By joining our CSA, you are agreeing to share the risk of various crops failures through the season. As your farmers, we are working to minimize those risks.
- You’re responsible for picking up your share every week, or designating someone else to pick up your share for you. In that case, please make sure they know the pickup location, hours, and the instructions.
- If you’re going out of town or will otherwise be unable to pick up your share, please notify us no later than the Sunday before the pick-up. You can request a double box for a future pick up or receive credit at the farm stand.
- If you miss a pick up (without scheduling a vacation hold beforehand), then the box is forfeited and no refund will be issued. Your box will be donated to a local family in need.
- As a general rule, we do not issue refunds. If something unexpectedly comes up, like a move, we will work with you on a prorated basis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Community Supported Agriculture invites you into a relationship with us, your farmers. In a CSA, the risks and rewards of the farm are shared. As a shareholder, you pay in full (other payment options available) at the beginning of the growing season–when seeds, soil amendments, and other resources are purchased. Payment upfront is a tremendous help! You’ll receive a weekly box of fresh produce and herbs. Not to mention the satisfaction of supporting local agriculture, sustainable growing practices, and delicious food!
Yes, our growing principles are strictly organic, using no chemical synthetic pesticides or GMOs. We believe in caring for the ecosystem and maintaining biodiversity and soil fertility. Growing organically in harmony with our created environment eliminates the need for chemicals and promotes beneficial insects and fungi that do the work of chemicals (but without the harm!) However, please note that we are not certified organic through the USDA.
Sometimes things come up. We understand!
If you’re going out of town, please notify us no later than the Sunday before your weekly pick up. You can request a double box in the future or receive credit at the farm stand.
If something last minute comes up and you can’t make it out to the farm, please arrange for a friend or family member to pick up your box with the pick-up instructions. At this time, we are not able to hold your box past the arranged pick-up hours and all produce will be given to a local family in need.
No refunds are available for boxes without prior arrangements made by the Sunday before pick-up.
As a general rule, we do not issue refunds. If something unexpectedly comes up, like a move out of town, we will work with you.
That’s a great question! Our CSA box is a good choice for people who are passionate about their health and willing to spend a little extra time in the kitchen. If you do not eat a large variety of vegetables or do not have too much time to cook, buying select vegetables at our farm stand may be a better option. Plus, it is a beautiful drive into the country to see and meet your farmers!
